What happens at the Assessment Centre?
The Assessment Centre process will differ slightly depending on what role you are applying for. Typically, during an Assessment Centre you will complete a competency based interview, a role play, and on some occasions, a technical assessment. If you wish to find out in more detail what to expect if you are booked to attend an Assessment Centre, please contact us.
How can I get feedback on my application if I am unsuccessful?
Due to the overwhelming amount of applications we receive, we cannot offer individual feedback at application stage. If you have been unsuccessful at the interview or Assessment Centre stage, please contact us for further feedback on your application.
What should I expect at the interview?
The interview process will differ depending on what role you apply for. However, it is expected that you will be interviewed by the line manager of the position you are applying for and the interview will be competency based.
At Tesco Bank we use competency based interview to evaluate your competence. Competency based interviews (sometimes known as situational or behavioural interviews) give us valuable insight into your preferred style of working and behaviours, to help us determine if you fit the Values and culture of Tesco Bank.
There are many competencies we may discuss with you, which could include, but not limited to, teamwork, communication, leadership, problem-solving and customer service. By asking you questions on competencies that are required within the role you have applied for, the interviewers can evaluate your interview and ensure this is the right role for you.
Some things to think about when answering a competency based question are:
What should I wear to an Assessment Centre?
It is key to remember that the first impression you make is the most important one. The first judgement an interviewer will make is going to be based on how you look and what you are wearing. Make sure you dress professionally when attending the Assessment Centre so you give yourself every chance to be successful.
Is there anything I should bring with me to the Assessment Centre?
If you have been asked to bring photo ID and proof of address with you to your Assessment Centre please ensure you remember. You are not required to bring anything else with you.
