Contact Centre Roles Application Process

Contact Centre Roles Application Process

What To Expect

Your Application

This is an online application process, during which you will be asked to fill in our application form. This is essential for all applicants. You may also have the opportunity to attach a CV, but this is in addition to the form.

For some roles you will also have a telephone interview or an online assessment. This helps us assess your skills and lasts around 30 minutes. Following this we can decide on your invitation to next stage of the process.

For other roles you will hear from us once we have matched your application to the requirements of the role in question.

Remember, once you have registered as part of the application process, you can follow your progress and manage your applications on your “My Tesco Bank” page, accessed by login from the Home Page of this website.

The Interview

Again, depending on the role you’ve applied for the content and questions in your interview will vary, but mostly they will cover

  • Your Background and technical skills
  • Your abilities – both personal and professional
  • Why you want to join Tesco Bank
  • Your fit with our Values

Interviews are conducted face to face and usually in our offices, though we may use other venues.

Before applying, it’s important that you do your research. So think carefully about the job description you’re looking at, and how your own skills and experiences might fit it. Look up our websites and find out more about us. It’s a great and informal way to find out more and to decide whether the role you’re interested in is right for you.

Selection Stage

In some cases, the face to face interview is the last stage in the process – it varies by role. In other cases there may be further interviews or perhaps individual assessment exercises or attendance at an assessment centre. You’ll be informed of these as part of our process.

Pre Employment Screening

As a Bank we have regulatory screening of credit and criminal record checks to comply with, together with our own referencing checks. If you have any doubts over these please ask, and we’ll do our best to help you.

All individuals who are offered employment with Tesco Bank will need to complete Pre Employment Screening. Pre Employment Screening ensures that a job applicant is who they say they are and is suitable to do the job they have been offered. The Pre Employment Screening involves four things; credit checks, Disclosure, Referencing and ID checks.

Disclosure is a document which contains impartial and confidential criminal history information that is held by the police and the government departments. The Disclosure could include information on criminal records, person’s included on children’s lists, and other relevant information held by the police force or government body local to you. You will be given instructions by the recruitment team on how to complete your Disclosure online. It should take you 30 minutes to complete. All confidential information that you provide in your Pre Employment Screening will not be seen by anyone outside of HR.

Once you have completed your Pre Employment Screening, the paperwork will be sent for processing. Pre Employment Screening takes approximately 4 weeks to complete, and longer if a more detailed screening is required for a particular role, or if the screening requires contact with overseas organisations. The Recruitment Team will contact you when the Pre Employment Screening has completed, and they will send you a unconditional letter of offer confirming you are right to start working for us.

The Offer

If all has gone well, we will be in a position to make you an offer. This is a critical part of the process where we offer you the role and you then accept. We will be more than happy to answer any further questions you have at this stage – it is important that we are both completely satisfied that this is the right move.

Application Top Tips

Practice. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but practicing what you might say before you go into the interview should make you feel more prepared. Be your own worst interviewer so you can prepare for anything coming your way!

Candidate Promises

If you are successful, your offer will be clearly explained to you and you will receive the written offer when we say you will.
